Cantor Chabon

Cantor Jennie Chabon received her Masters of Sacred Music and Investiture from the Jewish Theological Seminary in 2004. She is a graduate of Columbia University, where she studied anthropology with a focus in comparative religions. She then spent two years living and studying in Israel. While in cantorial school she served as the cantor at a Conservative synagogue in Montclair, New Jersey. Cantor Chabon grew up in Berkeley, where she sang for ten years in the San Francisco Girls Chorus, recording, touring and competing internationally in choral festivals and competitions. She has worked with children in many different capacities - teaching kindergarten at Tehiyah Day School, Hebrew school at Temple Beth El, and as a counselor and program director at Camp Kee Tov in Berkeley where she met her husband, Steve. She loves hiking, cooking, yoga, and playing with her son Ezra.
